高中英语语法教学案例
高中英语新教材的使用,确实给许多英语教师实施语法教学带来过困惑.在教学实践中,笔者结合课标下的语法教学理念,大胆地做了一些尝试,形成了一套语法课堂教学的基本模式:巧设背景呈现语法;模仿运用探究语法;创设语境感知语法;教师主导归纳语法;通过练习巩固语法;设置任务活化语法.
下面笔者提供一节高中英语语法教学的实践课,与大家共享.
教学内容:the Subjunctive Mood (1) Unit 7 Living With Disease,SEFC 2 A
教学目标:
1. 学习和掌握虚拟语气
I wish I could / were / would…
If I were / did…, I would…
…as if I were… 的用法.
2. 通过实践、体验、探究、合作等方式学会如何在语言实践中灵活运用这些句型.
教学辅助手段:多媒体.
教学过程:
(在本文中,T=teacher; S=student,S1=stuedent1,S2=student2,…)
Task 1: Presentation by revision
Show a picture of Xiaohua on the screen.
T: …. Are you familiar with this girl? Who is this girl? Anything about her?
S: …
T: Yes. This girl is Xiaohua we have just learnt about in reading. She has learnt to live with the fact that she has got Aids and decided to use the limited time to help others. What a brave and sunny girl! And we know she has lots of wishes in her mind. What are her wishes? Go over the passage and tell us her wishes using the sentences from the reading material.
S1: I wish I could remember more about my mum.
S2: I wish that she were here with me and that we weren't sick.
S3: I wish people would find out the facts and not act as if I were a bad or dangerous person.
S4: If I were you, I would give an AIDS patient a hug.
T: (Show the sentences on the screen) Can she realize these wishes? Pity that she can't make these wishes come true. In other words, her wishes are unreal situations or things that are not certain to happen.
【教学思路】语法教学的设计要根据各语法项目内容的特点、功能选择不同的导入方式.常采用的方法有:复习、讨论、活动、解图、问答等.本课设计通过复习所熟悉的内容,巧妙自然地把教学引入到本节课的目标语言结构,给学生营造出一种轻松、和谐的学习氛围.
Task 2:Read and follow
Read the sentences and find out the rules, then follow them to make sentences.
S: …
T: You're clever enough to have found out the basic rules and have made good sentences. What patterns did you use?
S1: I wish I could …
S2: I wish I were…
S3: I wish I would…
S4: If I were …, I would…
S5: … as if I were …
T: (Show the patterns on the screen) From your sentences and Xiaohua's wishes, we can see these patterns are used to express unreal situations or things that are not certain to happen. That's the grammar we'll learn in this lesson—the Subjunctive Mood.
【教学思路】让学生朗读这些句子,形成相关句型的语感,进而让学生去观察、发现规律、模仿造句,培养学生自主学习与探究的能力.这种学习方式较容易使学生获得自我肯定,从而产生学习的成就感,并内化为进一步学习的动力.
Task 3: Look and say
Show some pictures (one with a child looking at a bird flying in the blue sky; another with a boy, standing by a window, wondering at the moon and stars hanging in a night sky, …) and ask students to make wishes using the patterns.
T: I wish I were a bird.
S1: I wish I could fly in the sky like a bird.
S2: If I were a bird, I would fly in the sky.
S3: I feel as if I were a bird flying in the sky.
S4: …

【教学思路】在学生对目标语言结构有了一定的认识后,为学生提供鲜活的、便于理解的图片、文字或背景,鼓励学生用已熟悉的语言结构表达自己的思想、刺激学生的想象力,培养学生在真实情境中综合运用语言的能力.
Task 4: Summary
We have learnt and practised several patterns of the Subjunctive Mood: I wish I could / I were / I would…; If I were / I did…, I would…; … as if I were… Here the subjunctive mood is used to express wishes and statements against the present facts. Remember in the clauses of these types of statements, the predicative verbs should be used in general past tense. While the predicative verbs in major sentences should be should / would / could /might do. The Subjunctive Wood is used instead of the indicative. This is just part of the Subjunctive Mood, and we'll learn more about it in Unit 8.
【教学思路】通过上面几个环节,学生对虚拟语气的用法形成了初步的概念. 这时教师把这节课所学内容及时地带领学生进行简单小结,帮助学生整理思路,形成清晰的概念.虽然只是简单的几句话,却起着画龙点睛的作用,是本节课不可缺少的重要环节.
Task 5: Practice
Rewrite the sentences using the words in brackets.
1) I can't solve my problem. (I wish)
2) I'm not a shooting star. (I wish)
3) I'm afraid the performance won't go well. (I wish)
4) I am not a billionaire, so I won't buy what I want. (If)
5) I want to buy these books, but I don't have enough money. (If)
Complete the sentences using as if.
1) People treat me dangerous person).
2) Sarah looks at her husband stranger).
3) I remember the whole thing yesterday).
【教学思路】学生对虚拟语气的用法有了感性、理性的认识,接下来就应该做一些变通性的巩固练习.教师在实施该环节的教学时,首先要考虑不同层次水平学生的参与程度,尽量为那些课间发言不够主动、学习外语缺乏信心的学生提供机会,拉着、推着他们共同前行.其次,教师要考虑怎样充分地利用好教材中所提供的相关材料,必要的时候增加一些练习.教学过程中针对不同的学生设置不同类型、不同坡度的练习,让整个课堂教学人人有事做、个个会做事.
Task 6: Free talk
T: Just you've talked about some wishes according to the pictures and practised using different ways to express them. And now I'd like to know your own dreams and wishes very much. Please talk about your dreams and wishes using the patterns we've learnt today. One minute to think, and then report it in class.
S1: I wish I were a teacher. If I were a teacher, I would know how to study well.
S2: If I were a man, I would take good care of my wife.
T: What a creative idea! Boys and gentlemen, have you heard it? Please remember her wish.
S3: I wish I had a magic lamp. If I had a magic lamp, I would stop America from attacking Iraq.
T: A peace-lover!
S4: If I were a top player, I would take part in the Olympic Games.
S5: I wish I were a successful businessman. If I were a successful businessman, I would have lots of money and help the poor all over the world.
T: A caring and responsible guy!
S6: I wish I were a writer. If so, I would write down all the happy moments truly and wonderfully.

T: … You've not only used the patterns very well and correctly, but also your ideas are creative and wonderful. More importantly, you let me know your dreams and wishes. You're caring, responsible and lovely. Do you want to know my wishes? Boys and girls, I wish time could flow back. 【教学思路】设计本环节,充分利用学生感兴趣的话题——愿望与梦想,让学生拓展思路,各抒己见,为最后实现语法教学的总目标作好铺垫.活动中,学生既运用所学知识表达了自己的愿望,又主动参与了课堂教学活动、分享成功的喜悦.同时,通过听取他人的成果,与之对照,可以丰富自己的语言内容,并纠正自己的不足.随后教师向学生表达自己的愿望与梦想,使得师生达到心与心的交流,引起共鸣.
Task 7: Writing
Write a short passage about your wishes and dreams, including your reasons and efforts.
【教学思路】通过以上环节的活动,学生基本掌握了虚拟语气中这几种句型结构的用法.语法教学只有实践从句到段、从段到篇的提升,才可能让所学内容在语言实际运用中得以活化,最终实现语法教学的总体目标,完成对学生语言综合技能的培养.
教学反思:本次语法教学实践课中,教师从引导学生认识、探究、了解、演绎、操练到活用,始终贯彻了以学生为主体,以任务为中心的教学理念.教学设计充分考虑到学生的认知特点,极大地调动了各个可控的教学资源.教学过程中,教师恰如其分地引入形成性评价,让学生在学习过程中感受到成功的喜悦,从而促进学生自我发展意识的逐步形成.教学效果良好,让人感受到环环有精彩,节节出高潮.
